Luckily, becoming proficient at something doesn’t have to take ten years if you have the right coach.
K. Anders Ericsson did a study considering the 10,000 hours rule and his research revealed that the coaching abilities of a student’s teacher are just as important as the number of hours a student practices.
Building on that knowledge, Ericsson devised a concept called Deliberate Practice.
The principles of Deliberate Practice can easily be applied to any skill you’re hoping to improve; and, they’re also the foundational concepts we used when building Rehearsal, our video-based practice and coaching platform.

Here’s a quick breakdown of how Rehearsal works.
- Mentors can create video-led scenarios, based on different skill sets, and assign those scenarios to learners.

- Once they’re satisfied with the video, they submit it.
- The video goes back to the mentor for further coaching and feedback. There’s also an option for machine learning feedback.
