K. Anders Ericsson did a study considering the 10,000 hours rule and his research revealed that the coaching abilities of a student’s teacher are just as important as the number of hours a student practices.  Building on that knowledge, Ericsson devised a concept called Deliberate Practice.  The principles of Deliberate Practice can easily be applied to any skill you’re hoping to improve; and, they’re also the foundational concepts we used when building [Rehearsal](https://www.elblearning.com/create-learning/rehearsal), our video-based practice and coaching platform. As mentioned, our video-based practice and coaching tool, Rehearsal, follows the principles of Deliberate Practice. But what exactly do we mean by that? Here’s a quick breakdown of how Rehearsal works. 1. Mentors can create video-led scenarios, based on different skill sets, and assign those scenarios to learners.  2. Learners can then practice on whatever device they’re comfortable with (e.g., computer, tablet, mobile app).  3. Once they’re satisfied with the video, they submit it. 4. The video goes back to the mentor for further coaching and feedback. There’s also an option for machine learning feedback. That’s a very high-level summary of how Rehearsal works.
